the writing life: my new poetry collection from yesyes books

:: Toward What Is Awful, Featuring Artwork by Ghangbin Kim

YesYes Books recently released my collection Toward What Is Awful as a beautifully designed electronic book. The collection is a series of pseudo-translations of the Latin poet Catullus’ work. Primarily, my process was to use the visual aspects of my dyslexia to my advantage by allowing letters to shift on the page until new words emerged in English.

I would say more about the collection, but I don’t want to be one of those annoying poets who goes on and on about her own work. I will say that I am thrilled to be included in the YesYes lineup. Thrilled and honored.

You can purchase Toward What Is Awful at the YesYes Books site. Get mine for just $5 or snag the entire volume-one bundle — featuring Ben Mirov with Eric Amling, Dorothea Lasky with Kaori Mitsushima, Metta Sáma with Mihret Dawit, Angela Veronica Wong with Megan Laurel, and me with Ghangbin Kim — for only $15.
