:: The Years
Last week, Jon and I celebrated our thirteenth wedding anniversary, which also marked the seventeenth year since our first date. Because we don’t have much money right now, given our unexpected expenses with the house, I didn’t buy anything to mark this milestone in our lives. Instead, I collected up photos, letters and other memorabilia from the past seventeen years and placed them in a large vase. We spent the evening of our anniversary looking through the items and reciting our wedding vows to each other. It was a beautiful way to spend one of our first nights in our new home.
Congratulations. That is a perfectly wonderful way to celebrate your 13 years together. Anniversaries aren’t about presents – after 28 years, I should know! Best wishes to both of you.
